    Repair vs. Replacement

When it comes to your windshield, you often have the option to simply repair it rather than going through the hassle of replacing it altogether. However, if the crack on your windshield is larger than three inches, it will need to be replaced. Smaller chips and cracks, though, can be easily be repaired.

    Auto Glass Repair

Typically, during the auto glass repair process, a certified technician will evaluate and repair your:

Windshield – We repair windshields first by cleaning the area around the chip with a primer. Then we add a resin that seeps into all of the cracks, essentially “healing” it and preventing the cracks from spreading. We then cure the resin with a UV lamp to ensure it stays in place. We finish the job by polishing and cleaning the area. Not only will the crack or chip no longer be visible, you won’t have to worry about it cracking should it come in contact with another rock while you’re driving down the freeway.

Side Windows – Unlike your windshield, cracked or chipped side windows cannot be repaired. So if you bring your vehicle in because of a crack on one of your side windows, we will have to replace it altogether for you.

Rear Windshield – Most of the time, your rear windshield has to be replaced, rather than repaired. It’s important to get cracks fixed right away because they put your vehicle at risk for interior weather damage and theft.
