Tires
If you’re new to RVing, you’ll quickly learn that tires are more prone to issues than most other parts of your RV. Simply put, the stock tires on most RVs are the bare minimum and have a very short lifespan. Therefore, if your tires are more than two years old, you should check them religiously and consider replacing them.
Axles
Along with your tires, the axles on your RV are also prone to danger. With enough use and strain, RV axles are prone to bending, which puts undue strain on your tires, making them more likely to blow out on the open road.
Roof
Few things are more frustrating or common with RVs than a roof leak. RV roofs are built with soft, flexible materials that are great for holding up under UV rays and heat. However, they aren’t designed to hold up against constant rain, hail, and heavy winds. Therefore, if you’ve been through a storm or two, be sure to check your roof for leaks and invest in necessary RV repair.
Windows
As with your roof, RV windows are also notorious for leaks and issues. As such, it’s important to do a quick check of your window seals to make sure they’re still intact and recaulk as needed.
HVAC System
Whether you’re camping during winter or summer, it’s important to inspect your HVAC system before embarking on a camping trip. If your furnace or AC isn’t working properly, you’ll need to invest in an RV repair to get it back up and running.
Awning
Whether you have a powered awning or a manual one, it’s important to extend and retract it before hitting the open road. That way, you can rest assured it will be ready to give you shade once you set up at your campground. Extending the awning is also a good way to check for tears, in which case you’ll need an RV repair.
